You may noticed people used cotton swabs usually to make their ears free from wax. In fact they are not making their ears wax free but are damaging them badly.
Ear swabs are dangerous for ear drum and ear canal. Doctors strongly advice their patients not to use any kind of ear swab. Most of the people put swab so deep that it damaged ear canal badly and results in bleeding also. Following are 5 dangers of using cotton swabs.
1. Damage To Ear Canal
In childhood our parents and doctors advice us not to put anything into ears. Same goes for cotton swabs. They are equally dangerous for ears comparatively any other thing. Cotton swabs should not put into ears because they may damage ear canal or ear drum and can effect hearing as well.
2. Rupture Membrane
Membrane can be rapture if you put cotton swabs for so long into ears. Doctors say that if you are getting wax out of your ear, you most likely are sticking the cotton swab in too far. This will cause you to rupture your membrane.
3. Ear Infection
Cotton swabs may cause ear infection if it remained into ear for so long. It will move ear wax deep into canal and may pierce your ear drum as well. Ear wax helps to prevent your ears from infection.
4. Push Ear Wax Further In
Cotton swabs may push wax deeper into ear canal. It leads to many other infections including hearing problems. Studies show that people can develop a loss of hearing from pushing ear wax further into their eardrum or ear canal.
5. Bleeding
Pushing Cotton swabs into ear canal may cause bleeding. If you see blood in your swabs it means that you damaged your ear canal by pushing it so far.
